Celebrating Each Step!

9th ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION
On October 24th we celebrated 9 years of Lifenet Children's Foundation Inc.
Although we have been involved in children's ministry for more than 14 years it was 9 years ago on this date that we were formally registered as a non profit organization with the Philippine Securities Exchange Commission which initially granted our legal identity.



We therefore use this formal date of registration as a marker to look back and remember with gratitude all that has been achieved and to acknowledge and thank all those that have walked alongside us in this journey so far.

Our HOJ children presented music and dance performances to our visitors who joined us for a simple celebration together to remember the steps of our adventures in this ministry with 'GREAT IS YOUR FAITHFULNESS' as our celebration theme.


We are so very grateful to all those who have been part of this faith adventure from the start of our pioneering work with street children, through the long and arduous process of trying to build and open House of Joshua, and encouraging and supporting us through some of the difficulties of running a home that operates by faith and establishing what has now become quite a unique family. 

There have been many victories along the way as well as trials and challenges but each has only furthered our desire to see true restoration in the children who have been entrusted to our care. Our heartfelt declaration is that our Father has indeed been so faithful in and through every step!

'Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power at work within us....BE ALL GLORY!' Ephesians 3:20



SCOUTING ADVENTURES
Some of our House of Joshua kids were able to join the boy and girls scouts event held in Canitoan Elementary school with a formal installation ceremony followed by a camp. These activities are great opportunities for our children to widen their perspective and experiences, develop character and practice new life and social skills.
  

JUNIOR FAMILY DAY
Our younger children demonstrated their dance and performance talents at the Pre-School family day event which aims to help promote relationships and unity. It is vital that all our children feel part of our HOJ family as well as the wider community which helps to formulate new memories of belonging and renew hope in exchange for former disappointment. We therefore welcome these important and often timely opportunities to help our children participate and feel a sense of pride and accomplishment.
      

PRAYER POINTS

Please Pray For:
  • 1 Transition Care client who was discharged 2 weeks ago and placed with a local family who are now assuming responsibility for continuing his studies while providing ongoing support. Please pray for his adjustment into a different family environment, for the development and establishment of meaningful relationships and confidence as he steps out into a new chapter of his life as a young adult.
  • The court hearing of 1 of our girls which was cancelled again and rescheduled twice this month. It is now re-set for November. Please pray that justice will prevail, for our staff who must testify and for complete restoration of heart, body, mind and spirit.
  • The Alternative Learning System (ALS) students who have been waiting for their exam to complete their program and fulfil the documentary requirements to enrol in formal education. The exam has been postponed and rescheduled numerous times this year but registration has finally been completed and we are hoping and praying that it will be facilitated as now scheduled on November 26th. Please pray for the students to persevere in their studies, for wisdom as they undertake the examination and that they will finish well.
  • Our new partner churches who have been willing to facilitate our 'Drop Box' initiative to help develop partnership and lessen the expenses of supporting the needs of our current 22 children by mobilising regular smaller donations from partner congregations. We have been encouraged by the initial response and 1 church has already filled their first box to the brim and aim to refill it again with donations for our HOJ kids. Please pray that the partnership relationships will strengthen and that it will develop as sustained ongoing longer term local support.
