Sizzling Summer Fun!

March and April are always busy months with exams, the end of the school year, awarding ceremonies followed by the searing heat of summer.
Although the routine has changed while our kids are out of school for the vacation months, the pace remains full and focused as we try to keep everyone on track and prevent boredom from creeping in when it is too hot to be outside and active.

Graduates & Awards
We are thrilled to celebrate the graduation of our preschoolers, kindergarten and elementary students from HOJ and Growing Hope ministries, and all the numerous achievements of our children who received awards for their hard work this academic year.

Growing Hope Culminating Activity
Our Growing Hope community outreach ministry graduates, awardees, and families joined together to celebrate all our student's achievements and end the program's activities for this academic year with a final gathering. Children and parents received further awards, prizes, hygiene packs, and rice as part of the celebration event to acknowledge everyone's contributions and accomplishments for another successful year!

The Growing Hope community child sponsorship and family support program will resume in June with the start of the new approaching 2018 - 2019 academic year. Children who have successfully completed this year program and their school requirements are eligible to continue for ongoing support into their next grade level.

THANK YOU to all our sponsors who have helped these students move another step further towards the long-term goal of staying in school and successfully completing their basic education.
We love to celebrate each milestone and mark their progress which is a great encouragement to persevere and motivates us all to continue our work together.

Area Based Standards Network Quarterly Meeting
Lifenet Children's Foundation Inc. was selected by the Dept of Social Welfare and Development to host the delegates of the region 10 2018 first quarterly ABSNET meeting with directors, social workers and representatives of registered government and non-government social welfare agencies. Our HOJ staff prepared, cooked, served, emceed and entertained our visitors from around the region

Family Fun
We were privileged to have the Directors from The Conroy Rendon Charitable Trust, our principle supporting charity in the UK and representatives from one of our sponsor churches visit our HOJ family for 2 weeks.
Art workshops, field trips, games, shared meals, staff development training and a water fight with our visitors were some of the highlight activities our children and staff all enjoyed

Summer Youth Camp
Our HOJ youth aged 13+ years were able to join the 18th Revival For Christ annual youth camp which was held in Cagayan de Oro city this year.
Our young people had a wonderful time together with other youth from Mindanao and Visayas participating in activities, games, competitions and challenging faith and values building sessions.

We are so grateful to RFC Philippines, the host Pastors, staff and volunteers who contributed so faithfully to an exciting and impacting week. They have invested so much in our young people! THANK YOU SO MUCH!

HOJ House Camp
As part of our summer vacation program, HOJ staff again created a wonderful 3-day summer house camp activity for all ages last week with the theme: Light Shine Bright!
The kids were divided into 3 teams that built their own night shelters, cooked their own food, slept out together and completed various games, challenges and team building activities.

Lifenet Summer Sports Fest
We have finished up April with our 4th annual summer SPORTS FEST which gathers young people together for a day of active sports and team games.
This year's sports fest was held at Canitoan Elementary School with the theme: Choose the Right Race!

With 60 kids and young people joining together amidst the summer heat, we all had an energetic and fun-filled day of basketball, volleyball, badminton, games and the final 'Amazing Race' challenge!

Our grateful thanks and appreciation to Canitoan Barangay council for their permission to use the school facilities for the event.
